Mid Semester

 Brett and Michelle have made it to mid-semester.  For those of you who don't know, we are both working full time and taking a class through Austin Community College. 

Brett is taking his first college course in a long time and getting back into the swing of it.  He's taking an ethics course on Monday evenings as a prerequisite.  At this point, he's not 100% sure about what he wants to major in.  He's narrowed it down to 2-3 different fields, but he'll have to take the same basic prereqs for all of them, so he's gonna get a feel for what he's most interested in.  He's mostly debating between automotive repair and physical therapy assistant. So far, he likes his ethics course and the discussions it prompts.

Brett's Campus (ACC Riverside)

Michelle is taking microbiology two nights a week at the Rio Grande campus.  This is her last prerequisite before applying to RN school.  Michelle has her LVN right now, but it will only take her a year of full-time school to get her RN. This means a big advance in pay and much more flexibility in where she works... hospital/ home health/ clinic, obstetrics/ cardiac/ ER.  If everything goes as planned, she will start full-time RN school in August 2011 and have her RN by August 2012.

It's been a challenge making sure we have time for each other, exercise, the dogs and school work, but we're both really excited to be in school again.

We've included some pictures of the Gypsy Picnic Festival Michelle went to this weekend (of course she has to include pictures of her niece and nephew) and some cute ones of the dogs.  Have a great week everyone!!!
