This Friday was Michelle's 33rd birthday. Brett had a few surprises in store for her.
Surprise #1: Brett sent Michelle flowers at work - Gerber daisies, her favorite!
Surprise #2: Brett showed up at Michelle's work to take her out for lunch. Brett has never been able to come to her work because they work too far apart, but he was able to get extra time for lunch and came to see where she works every day. It meant a lot to her.
Surprise #3: Brett took half the day off and cleaned the house, went grocery shopping and got the house ready for Michelle. When she came home, the dogs were wearing "Happy Birthday" tiaras, a drink was ready for her on the couch, present was wrapped up, and the house was spotless. What a great surprise.

Saturday night Michelle invited a few people out to celebrate her birthday. She wanted to meet up and play mini golf at the famous Peter Pan mini golf in south Austin. So around 6:30 we all got together and compete amongst dinosaurs, Nazi pirates (see the pictures) and scary looking rabbits. It was a fun time. We were very competitive. Brett ended up winning. Michelle didn't do very well even though Brett kept giving her "birthday pars" on her score card.

After flexing our skills on the mini golf course, we all headed over to Freddie's Place for some food and drinks. Freddie's is Michelle's favorite place to eat in Austin. Live oaks with strings of lights, huge dog-friendly patio, live music, washers, sweet potato fries... perfect. And it turns out during the winter, they have a fire pit going where you can roast s'mores! Even better! It was a little chilly, but they put individual heaters on the tables that kept us pretty warm (well, except maybe Kathryn and Anita, but they toughed it out).
All in all a great night, complete with good friends, raunchy jokes and an opossum! Perfect night.
