I know it’s been a long time since we’ve sent an update. Things haven’t been busier, it just feels like it for some reason.
Firstly, wedding plans are moving along. Most major things are reserved, invites are out, airline tickets have been bought… we’re both very excited. We’re excited for so many reasons. We cannot wait to tie the knot together. We cannot wait to pledge our lives to each other surrounded by our very closest loved ones. Everyone pray for good weather.
Secondly, we have finished P90X!! We cannot BELIEVE we did it. We’ve been done for two weeks now. The first week, we were pretty lazy and last week we attempted to start up again, but struggled. This week, we stuck to our daily workouts and eating plans and expect to see good things (both in the mirror and on the scale). We haven’t taken our “after’ pictures or measurements yet. However, we both feel a little uncomfortable sharing them. Maybe we just have to wait to see how they turn out before we decide to post them. J However, we are so proud of ourselves. We have totally adjusted our eating habits and daily exercise seems normal now… not like some big achievement or chore. We’re incorporating more outdoor exercise for the next month or so to take advantage of the nice weather while we can. Texas summer is not far away. We’re already in the 80s (and even 90s at times). When the heat hits, we’ll be beaten back inside and start “Insanity” – our next venture.
Speaking of heat, the Ben and Kiso got their summer shaves this week. Michelle attempted to shave them herself in order to save money. It turned out okay, but as the days pass, Kiso’s hair looks more and more uneven. Not sure where that went wrong, but it will probably require a touch up. She doesn’t care, though. Kiso and Ben prance around enjoying the novel feeling of cool air on their skin. JD is still hanging in there. She seems to be more upbeat lately. We’ve been keeping her outside all day while we’re at work because she’s having trouble holding her bladder (sometimes old ladies have a hard time). But we both think being outside all day has been good for her. She paces all day so her muscle tone has improved somewhat and she paces less at night because she’s so tired. She still seems confused at times, but not quite as addled as she was 6 months ago. As long as she’s still enjoying life, we still enjoy having her.
Additionally, Brett was hit head on and his poor truck was totaled. Luckily, no one was hurt, but we now have a new car: a Saturn. We miss the old red truck, but we're excited for our new sedan.
This weekend we have a whole lot of nothing planned… the first weekend like this in a long time. I see lots of reading, napping, and maybe some hiking. Sounds perfect.
We will attempt to keep better at the blogs again and Michelle will recommit to taking more pictures (because that’s the best part of blogs anyway, right?).
Hope everyone is doing well. Love you.
