We went up to Wendy and Ray’s this Christmas, they live in Tyler, TX about four hours northeast of here. Last year I spent part of Christmas in Tyler, but I was horribly sick and didn’t really get to spend time with anyone. This year was wonderful. It was such a relaxing few days. Finkle came with us and he was such a good dog. Everyone loved him. Saturday night we went over to Wendy’s sister Diane’s house for Christmas Eve dinner with Rick and Diane, Graham and Brandy and Jack. Christmas morning we opened presents. Their family tradition is to have someone be “santa” and pass out gifts. This year Michelle was Santa and they made her wear a UT santa hat. Another tradition they have is that you need to wear the bows on your head as you unwrap. It makes for some fun styles. Even Finkle got into the spirit. Later Sunday, the family came over for Christmas dinner and we stuffed ourselves like crazy.
Next week, Michelle’s parents are coming down to Austin. We’re going to celebrate “Christmas”, Caitlin’s birthday and Bryce’s birthday while they’re here. I’ll post more pictures then.
